I recently bought a MBP, see sig, off ebay. It came with a fresh install of 10.6.3. I used migration assistant to get all my stuff off my MDD that is running the highest 10.5 release. Everything went fine but now I have noticed some strange things occurring.

--Safari will not save history or bookmarks.
--Applications like Transmission will not have torrents saved. I have to re-add them and then have it check existing data.
--Handbrake, 0.9.5 and 0.9.4 will crash as soon as the GUI appears.

I have tried running repair permissions and always get a long list of things with flash being out of whack. I have reset the PRAM a few times as well. I don't have a 10.6 dic but I do have a 10.5 disc. Any ideas what could be going wrong?

Can you get a Snow Leopard Disk for $29.00?

Jumping from a G4 to the MBP may have left some bugs under the covers...

I would back up, wipe the hard drive and re-install OSX 10.6... Try it for a while and make sure everything works ok and then transfer everything back under a new user ID.
