Since updating to 10.6.8 (with combo update) I've encountered an issue with the Open dialog:
1. In Logic 8 (among other apps), I click open, click through a couple of drives/folders and the open dialog closes immediately.
2. In Chrome, after the second click it crashes the application.
3. In Photoshop and seemingly most other apps, only the left-side drive hierarchy is clickable (ie: none of the files/folders in the main window area are clickable)
Obviously this is a serious issue.
I did follow Apple's recommendation to reinstall the ProKit 7.0 and I have also verified/repaired permissions on the startup disk, without effect. I also tried disabling some of my OS addons like PathFinder, SteerMouse, DefaultFolder etc...nada.
I'm running this on an iMac Core 2 Duo 2GHz with 3Gb RAM.
Any ideas on what the culprit might be?
