I hope someone can help. I have 10.6 on a late 2007 Macbook with a Brother 7840W wireless printer. Ever since I installed SL, NETserver, syslogd, & mDNSREsponder have all been using between 30-50% of my CPU each. It's making the fan run at full blast all the time and only gives me about 1.5 hours on battery power.

Am I doing something wrong here? Any suggestions on how to fix this or is this the new normal for me? Appreciations.

Something isn't right there... I have 10.6 installed on my 2009 MB and my cpu idles at 1-2% on each core.

It may be worth an appointment at the genius bar if you are near an Apple store.

Are you using "Back to my Mac?" If so, try turning that off and see what happens.
