10.6 recent update kills connectivity with external monitors!

Formatted my MacBook Pro and clean installed Snow Leopard after I lost connectivity to any external monitor I plug in to my MBP. I noticed that as soon as I restarted with the Snow Leopard DVD, I regained the connection with my external monitor. After format all was well until I updated all to the way it was. No problems showed until I loaded the recent update of Snow Leopard.

Does anyone suffer from this?

Does anyone know a solution?

I am starting to see isolated posts in the internet from desperate people.

install all SW updates to 10.6.2

I'm on 10.6.2 and using an external display plugged using DVI with no problems at all

I did some PRAM reset and the screen is back. I will see how it behaves... I went through a whole day of reformatting and putting all back in my MBP. I would reformat again, or just stay on 10.5 until the matter gets resolved.

same here, I'm having no problems with a dual monitor setup on SL and MBP.

strange, i've 2.93GHz MBP and using DELL 24" connectd directly from mini-display port to display port.

no issues.

are you running latest 10.6.2 ??? Updated firmware ?
reset PRAM is a good idea.
