Just noticed these on the iCloud page (via BGR). No references to either anywhere else on ADC. Anyone tried either out, or have any thoughts?

10.7.2 is evidently required for any further iCloud betas (perhaps hinting at the arrival timeframe for iCloud this Fall).

Something more immediately significant... if 10.7.2 beta is a requirement, that would mean that 10.7.1 is imminent (otherwise, 10.7.1 beta would be the requirement).

Aren't even any notes to go with this release. Installer just has "TBA" in the notes section.

I'm wondering if this may've been pushed prematurely? That or it's simply registered (at the system level) as 10.7.2 in order to maintain iCloud compatibility as the beta progresses? People don't seem to be finding many differences.

probably an estimate at best, 10.7.1 hasn't been released for developer testing yet and they usually allot for 2 weeks of testing before general availability

I don't think this necessarily means that 10.7.1 is being rushed out.

If 10.7.1 is arriving imminently (implying it is a bug fix), then reason dictates that it would be compatible with the current iCloud betas (which have worked on 10.7 DPs and the GM). The fact that iCloud Beta 5 requires 10.7.2 suggests that they have implemented a feature that is currently not available in 10.7 (and will not be in 10.7.1).

Accordingly, I think this merely suggests that iCloud is going to find commercial release around the same time as 10.7.2's public release in several months' time. This 10.7.2 package simply implements some required functionality that is not ready for a public release yet.

This does not imply that 10.7.1 is being rushed out.

Of course, I could be wrong (as could we all). The "TBA" release notes do little to clarify.

its on 9to5 that 10.7.2 was just seeded to devs today

10.7.2 was not officially seeded. Like others have mentioned, it is just listed as a side download with the iCloud beta. It has not appeared anywhere else that beta OS updates usually do.

Nobody seems to have grabbed 10.7.2 and actually installed it, even those who had seen it posted on the developer site. I think it might have been a mistake. Anyway, 10.7.1 coming out next week wouldn't surprise me too much. I've ran into a few gnarly bugs on Lion GM that weren't fixed since the developer previews.

I managed to install it quickly while the link was available, was hoping to see MobileMe changed to iCloud in the System Prefs pane :(

I managed to snag the iCloud beta 5 update. Of course, 10.7.0 can't install it. I used Pacifist to force it (not a good idea, just saying... I felt risky.) Nothing interesting to report. Everything more or less looks the same in the Accounts preference pane.

I have just finished installing the 10.7.2 update and will do the iCloud beta 5 install when I get back from my walk in an hour or so.

Edit: I have now installed both 10.7.2 and iCloud beta 5. There is an additional Documents & Data setting under iCloud in System Preferences which wasn't there before in Beta 4. That keeps in line with the same setting that was added to iOS 5 beta 4.

As far as the Lion 10.7.2 update, I haven't noticed any differences yet but will keep an eye open. Screenshots of the changes to confirm the updates:

Could be, but all bugs I know, and there a lot obvious bugs, are not fixed.

(except keyboard illumination for MBP - which seems to be fixed)

10.7.2 11C26 is still available at de dev download page (iCloud page)

I only updated my debug Lion partition. Not recommend for your main OS I guess.
Well, I took a leap and installed. 10.7.2 doesn't seem much different from the GM. Besides the documents addition to iCloud and much less RAM usage, I don't see any changes. The GM used almost 4GB of memory and 10.7.2 uses, like, 2GB.
