10.7 GM Mail Freezing on Importing Messages HELP!

Did a clean install of 10.7 GM This morning. Was running DP4, did a time machine backup before the clean install. Did the clean install, restored from my time machine backup. Everything works fine except for Apple Mail. When I open it, it opens a window "Message Import". It says "Preparing to import messages" "Imported 0 of 49000 messages" and stays frozen there. It does not begin to import and I cant use mail without getting passed that window. Has anyone experienced anything similar? Any suggestions? Thank you.

Same thing happen to me, i just deleted all the mails in the prefs as well as the pref plist. Then mail app freeze when trying to set up a new account. Then every other app freeze every time i want to quit it. then i reverted to snow leopard and was amazed at how awesomely stable sl is.
