10.8.5 - graphic driver improvements from MaverX?

As 10.9 is said to bring significant improvements in terms of graphic performance even to older machines - will those improvements come to 10.8 as well?

At least Apple asks developers to focus testing on graphic drivers (amongst others) with the latest beta, which i find a little unusual for a .5 revision - unless they included the improvements made to the graphics department done in MaverX.

From the beta notes, it sure seems likely they did something to the graphics drivers in 10.8.5. Even if these were the same as Mavericks' drivers, I expect Mavericks will get another round or 2 or graphics driver updates before it's released.2
