Hi all,
A word of warning - it appears that after upgrading to 10.8.5 on my Mac Mini, my two Lacie 4Big Quadra 12TB USB 3 RAID arrays are frequently unmounting themselves and sleeping.
At first I thought something was up with the drives fully. In fact I couldn't even get one of the arrays to re-mount so I reformatted it. It left me with only ONE copy of all of my data which freaked me out a bit.
I spoke to Lacie on the phone who called me very promptly after I submitted a support ticket and he acknowledged that OS X 10.8.5 is the culprit and that Apple had changed some of the frameworks that handle USB 3 for external drives. He said that the data should be okay but it may be a little while before a fix is available.
I subsequently went out and purchased an external drive to get a copy of my files while I could.
Just a heads up.
Scott
