For those who've been using or playing with it, is 10.9 as blinding as iOS7?

By blinding I mean wickedly thin fonts with no serifs and lots of flat white+gray combos?

Open your ML machine. Now you're seeing Mavericks :)

Most of the changes in Mavericks are under-the-hood changes. Only thing is that is misses a lot of leather and linen etc.

Mavericks (thankfully!) keeps the style of recent OS X versions. It also attempts to remove skeuomorphic elements from the OS, but replaces them with classic matte OS X grey. This includes the linen pattern Apple has been overusing since iOS 4.

The only iOS 7-inspired changes I found where the texture of the Notes background and the Today screen of Calendar. Incidentally (or not?), I dislike both changes, but they are certainly not horrible.

it also has a new side dock like ML and a more rounded highlighter that's mostly it.

I honestly cant see a difference between ML and Mavericks. So no, nothing like iOS 7.
The funny stuff is my father can't even see the difference between iOS 6 and 7. After upgrading, the wallpaper stayed the same. So, "Where's the differences?"

I don't mean to sound rude, but does he need glasses? I mean, the change is quite drastic.

Not really - my dad was the same way. He said, "So basically, it's the same thing with different colors . . ."

It's *not* drastically different, at all.

My dad was the same as well. It seems like it is just young people complaining about it. Ironic.

Jony did the right thing. It's so different, yet it's instantly familiar.
Well, let's just stick to Mavericks. I've installed it, and it's great.
There's no *drastic* changes, but they've tuned a lot of details, like the animation.

I'd say going from a 3d design to a 2d design is drastic. But you are correct. Usage wise it hasn't changed much. Still simple to use and very straight forward.

Actually, they've gone from a 2D design to a 3D design.
