$100 Coupon Didn't Work

So, I went to the Apple Store today and tried to buy something with the $100 coupon that I got for being an early iPhone buyer. HOwever, the guy said the coupon code was no good. :(

But, after talking for a while, they gave me a 100 gift card which I then used.

Now, I am thinking, "Steve, that sh*t shouldn't happen."

Anybody else have a problem with their coupon?

Sounds like Apple stores are as judicious with handing out $100 gift cards as they were with issuing $200 rebates.

I haven't spent mine yet (but will this week). I'm glad they gave you the $100 gift card :D
 
Perhaps you should see if your original $100 rebate will work at the online store.
 
You have to email Apple about codes that don't work. They sent out a few of them twice. I had to go back and get a new one. Haven't tried to spend it after I had to pay full price for Logic 8, but it should work. Wish I would have been able to get a $100 gift card, man.
 
I just tried to preorder Leopard at the online store using my coupon and the checkout claimed it had a zero balance. I had to call CS who also said it had a zero balance, but when I persisted that it was unused they applied the $100 off to my order.

Now it has a zero balance.

Very glad they gave you the credit. But like I said before... ***** like that shouldn't happen.
 
i used my credit today to buy leopard. no problems. good thing everything has worked out for you guys.

yeah i went ahead and used it because there was really nothing else i wanted at the apple store that $100 would really impact on. At least in my mind... $100 off Leopard though...thats nice :D
 
I wanted to buy Leopard with my rebate but alas already spent it on Applecare :(
 
Happened to a friend of mine, Apple called it a "bug" in the distribution. They let him sign on to apple.com and print out a new one right there in the store.
 
I had a problem redeeming mine at the Apple store.
They just had me go back through the process on their store computer, and printed out a new one with a different code for me right there.
 
I was able to use mine just fine. It is ashame it didnt work, and true that shouldnt happen (but S*** happens) and atleast they gave you it back.
