Not sure where to post this, I have a 100 Mbit Metro Ethernet connection at home. I used to get 93 mbit with tests such as speedtest.net, although last time of check was a week ago maybe. Yesterday I decided to re-crimp the 8P8C (RJ45) connector because the previous one crimped by my ISP's technician looked really bad. I put a cap head on, then got one of my AMP connectors and crimped it. It looked good, but as I went to speedtest.net, I noticed maximum download was 66 mbit/sec. I then cut off the newly crimped plug and crimped a new one, now using one from a different batch. Check on speedtest.net — the same thing. 66 mbit max.

I don't know what to do, the wires go all the way up to the top of the plug evenly, my router reports the port is in 100 mbit full-duplex mode. Yet I cannot achieve more than 66.

Can it be my fault, or most likely there are problems on my ISP's end? Is there any way I can test this? I don't like my throughput halved.

Upd: it was my router. Without it I get 94 mbit.
