Took a few scores off Geekbench for single-threaded issues. UK prices, guesses for old models using used/refurb prices. All with 6GB. using 32-bit benchmarks.

Fastest is 6-core

Best bang for buck is base quad

Can I get rid of thumbnail?

I don't get why the 2.4 is showing as so slow. It can't be less than half the speed of the 3.33 for single threaded tasks. How did you do this, divide the Geekbench by the number of cores? That's interesting, if so, but it may not be quite true for what a real single threaded task would do.

lol, sorry, but this value comparison is silly.

Single-threaded values only in the 32-bit version of Geekbench?

You can't give a value score for an entire system based around an incomplete, misrepresentative metric.

It's not. His numbers are totally wrong (I know because I was the first to post the a 2010 8-core geekbench score ;))

Integer, Single Threaded in 32-Bit gets a score of: 2099. (And 2563 in 64-bit geekbench)

Floating Point, Single Thread, 32-Bit: 4013

Stream is shown at less than half of what it gets: 4326

I'm not even sure where these numbers for the 6-core are coming from because the ones I'm finding are faster.

Sorry folks posted revised version.

Eponym. is this your score?

http://browse.geekbench.ca/geekbench2/view/280548

In my table this would come out as 1631, 2230, 3987 and 3712

I'm using the first value in each of the 4 sections. v3 will make this clearer. ie

Blowfish, Mandelbrot, Read, Sys Copy

You're right of course. I don't think any metric claims to represent the whole picture though. My humble, fun attempt is to look at some non-multi threaded tests. The scores online seem to look at multi-threaded tasks on the whole.

The answer seems to come out correct. The consenus is that the 6-core is the fastest. Digiloyd states that the base quad is the best value.
