Hey guys.

So I got my hands on a brand new iPhone 3GS, unlocked :D

So what exactly do I have to do so I can put it on T-Mobile Pay As you Go?

I'd want it so that I can just buy $25 PrePaid Card (130 minutes) every three months (Each card has 90 Days of Service).

Would I have to just buy a SIM Card and put it in my phone?

Or do I have to buy a T-Mobile Phone that comes WITH a SIM Card, and then activate the t-mobile phone, and then just put the SIM into my iPhone?

Basically my question is how do I put the T-Mobile Service IN the iPhone, buy just buying a SIM and activating it, or having to get a Phone (from tmobile) with the SIM.

Thank you guys!

I walked into a T-Mobile store today and bought a SIM card which they activated for me. Total $10 plus sales tax. ($3.29 of that is available credit to you after you install it in the phone.) You can also buy a $25 card there. No need to show them the phone.

I brought the card home and put it in my old 3G. I had read that you have to turn 3G service off and turned it off before inserting the T-Mobile Sync card in the phone. Within seconds it showed me the T-Mobile provider.

thanks guys!

As newbie as this is, how do I found out what my phone number is?
When I order it online does it tell me after I activate it?

Oh, and this means I can use Safari via WiFi without any Tmobile Plan stuff or anything right?

And I can still use the App Store correct :p

So many questions, thank you guys for your help!
I love the fast replies!

This may not work for you, but my AT&T iPhone lists the number at the very top of the contacts list.
thanks guys!

When you activate through TMobile you'll get your phone number.
At least that's how it worked for me.

Call someone.

-Facepalm-.

I knew that. >.<

Anyway guys, I purchased a T-Mobile SIM, popped it in and it works great!
I can browse Safari via Wi-Fi in my house, App Store works, jailbroken too!
Even edited the unlock sound :)

Thanks you guys, that didn't even take less than a week!
Amazing =)

Well @ $1.00 per day and $0.25 per call, a buck twenty five is a pricey way to determine one's phone number, hehe.

The other thing they can do is just look at the line that says Phone Number in iTunes, hehe.

Lol :D
I didnt think it was that hard to determine your phone number.
You can call someone and just have it ring once or twice just to get the number thru caller ID. Or look into itunes or pick up the phone and go to settings/phone and look at the "My number" field.
But this is the hacks section and not tmobiles prepaid sim FAQ's.
If you cant figure out your own phone number and need to ask how to do it on a forum you shouldnt even bothering JB and hacking your iphone IMO.

Hopefully they know their address... In case they wander off and are found they have to be able to tell the officer where to take them home, haha

LMAO :D
Write it on a piece of paper and always have it on.
Thats what I do:)

That's too much trouble. Mine's sharpie-marker written on the inside of my underwear band. That way if I'm passed out when they find me I hopefully have my underwear on still...
