Can I downgrade to 4.0.1 from factory 4.0.2 ip4?

My friend just bought a iphone4 directly from apple and it came with 4.0.2 firmware already installed. Is there any possible way to downgrade to 4.0.1 and then JB and unlock? Or am I stuck until a new release comes out?
