So I'm a little bit confused about this, after the 3g is upgraded to 4.1, is it impossible to unlock even if you downgrade? No way to downgrade the baseband?

If you are lucky to have one of few first 3G with an exploitable 5.08 bootloader, you can downgrade the baseband, using Fuzzyband, to an unlockable one. Otherwise, there's no other way.

How can you check the bootloader?

Yeah actually I am on 5.08  I downgraded the baseband yesterday with fuzzy band, but i haven't had the chance to test it yet since I don't have a t-mobile sim card. I'm sure its cool though.
