EDIT: holy crap! 4gb available on both the 11 and 13"

Just ordered two max'd out 13's, (one for the wife), and one max'd out 11".

Now, I hope the new 13" MBA can replace my Sony Z so I'll be back to owning/using Mac's only.

Hopefully they'll run a 27" ACD no problems.

Oh my, I am so excited.

Thank you Steve!

Haha. That's good news. It looks like a solid upgrade. It's not the powerhouse some were hoping for. In fact, it will barely squeak by for most users. But it's still impressive!

4GB memory and 2.13GHz Core 2 Duo are both $100 upgrades on the Apple store as BTO options. 13" MBA here I come :D

Is 4GB user upgradeable or BTO?

Looks like 4GB BTO: link

I can deal with the c2d, the 320m and ability to have 4GB RAM is what I've been waiting for. The flash storage and other nice features are just icing on the cake! :D

should I get a decked out 11.6 inch or base 13 inch with upgraded ram..

same price.. hmm

We can all rejoice. The minimum stuff we NEED is all there. The other stuff, not so much. However, I am fine with everything. I wish the IPS display was there, but the high resolution 13" at 1440 x 900 is more important.

I thought Jobs misspoke when he said the 11.6" was higher res than the 13" MBP. However, it does, but it's 16 x 9 while the 13.3" MBP is 16 x 10. Another reason for the 13" over 11" MBA.

about the CPU

I have a 2007 MBP with a 2.2 ghz Core 2 Duo. Is the 2.13 ghz version of the new MBA actually a slower processor than my 3 year-old MBP? Seems odd

Is it still the mediocre screen? Yuck. I dunno if I can go back to that.

How is it mediocre? It's the same glass and high color gamut as the MBP has but in higher resolution at 1440 x 900.

That is the same workspace as the 15" MBP, and everyone is happy with the battery too certainly?
