just updated to 4.2.1 and now my music is gone :/

Its not gone, you gotta sync it back thru itunes.

That happened to me too, they are all still there. I did the HOME+POWER reboot, and everything was back after that.

I had the same problem after updating both my ipad and iPhone 4. You can see the music in itunes but when you go into the ipod app its all empty.

What i did was to go into itunes on my pc then play any song from your iPhone. Once the song starts from your pc/mac you should see the 'sync' screen come up on your device and all your music should now be back when go you back into the ipod app.

I had the same problem. Played one song from the iPhone AND synced. All is now back. Using a Mac.

same problem here. synced my iPhone with my PC again and my ipod library has returned.

I had the same problem, but also had an error when sync'ing... so I had to do a full restore and that fixed it.

I've also had to restart my iPhone several times since upgrading to 4.2... I hope the restore fixes that.
