So I just got new radiatiors installed in my house. Two of the four were leaking, and one was in the bedroom. I got larger (length) radiators too, so they take up a little more space. In my bedroom, I have two dressers, a nightstand, my desk, and my bed, which is picture one. I am going to need to move things around because I dont think its good to have the nightstand in front of the radiator, since the heat might damage the wood. So I came up with pictures two and three. The other problem I have with my current setup is that my chair hits the railing on the bed, and im kinda stuck close to the desk. The only issue I have with picture two is the dresser that is at the end of the bed, is about 4 feet tall, so it would be taller than the bed. I dont think thats a problem, but Im not sure if that would look right. Thoughts?

This assumes that those are double doors in the southwest corner to get into your room and a window in the northeast corner.
If it's easy, can you draw that one up for us? Seeing it would help me verify if it's a good idea or not.
If this fits:
- put the nightstand next to the window where the large dresser is
- take where your bed is in the current setup and move it north (assuming pic is set up with north at top) so it's right next to the nightstand
- put the tall dark brown dresser in the southeast corner on the other side of the bed
- put your desk in the nook at the northeast
- put the big dresser on the west wall, kind of like in pic 2, but further south and not jammed into the corner

I agree with SnowDx. His idea seams very realistic and the best case scenario for the layout of room you have there. Mind letting us know what software you used to make that?

the way i see it, is that the double doors are a wardrobe(closet) and the door is in the top right corner? and the window is on the bottom wall on the left... your setup may still work though.
Ah, okay, I can see that making sense. I have option 5 and 6, then!
Option 5 - start with 2 as basis:
- switch the bed and nightstand so nightstand is in corner and bed is near window.
- put tall, dark brown dresser against the small wall that you see directly as you open the door
- will the desk fit to the left of the radiator in the northwest corner? If yes then desk there and large dresser to right where desk is in pic 2, but not quite as close to the closet
Option 6 - start with 3 as basis:
- move the bed closer to the closet, then put nightstand in corner on other side of bed. The nightstand is usually only accessed from in bed so you won't have to walk in front of the radiator at all to get it and it gives the bed more space from the radiator. If nightstand is too large, get one that fits.
- put tall, dark brown dresser against the small wall that you see directly as you open the door
- large dresser moves slightly north so it's not jammed up against the door
- desk flips 90° against south wall but not jammed into southeast corner
Sorry, I should have been more clear. The entrydoor is in the top right corner, and there is a SLIDING door in the bottom right corner, not a window. Stupid me forgot to mention that. Also, on the right wall as soon as you walk in, there is a double door closet, so nothing can go there. Like the idea Snow, but its back to the drawing board lol.
Option 6 should still work, just keep the big dresser and brown dresser next to each other like they are now. But move the desk, nightstand and bed as suggested. Right now you're furniture is all lined up like Animal Crossing.
So, do you have TWO double door closets? Can you make those closets more useful so you can ditch one of the dressers in your room? I got these awesome closet organizers for my family which gives us nice, modern looking, metal drawers, hanging rods, etc. so our closets hold a ton. Enough even for my teenager.
This way I eliminated dressers in our rooms entirely so that we have more space. I'd see about doing that with at least one of your closets. That way you could store at least a dresser's worth of clothing in one and still have room for hanging stuff.There's also option 7 - start with 1 as basis:

I'd still recommend making the closet space more useful, especially if you have 2 closets. Getting rid of a dresser would be great for that room.

Sorry for not getting back to the question. I lost track of the thread I made.
Again, I should have been clearer on another thing. That empty wall, up top, to the left of the door, is actually a double door closet, so I cant put anything there either.
I think I am just going to go with option 2. I will have three days off for new years, so Im going to do the whole room over. Here are the problems:
1. I have one of those huge Ikea posters of London on the wall, which has to be moved now.
2. I have a bar thats screwed into the wall, that I have my sunglasses on. Its one of those bars that you get from Ikea, that you hang magnets on. Its above the radiator now, and, A. its not centered after putting up the new radiator, and B. Im afraid the heat from the radiator will damage the glasses. After I move that, I have to plaster the holes again, and move a mirror that i have to that spot.
3. I set up my airport extreme on the long dresser, with all the wires connected beautifully on the back of the dresser, and underneath. That has to be done over cause that dresser will be moved.
I wish I could move the computer desk, but I have the iMac attached to the wall, with external speakers attached on the sides. I have piping on the wall to hide all the wires, and I painted them the same color as the wall, so they blend in better. By moving the desk to the left, closer to the smaller closet doors, the iMac will be a bit off-centered with the desk, but that is something I am going to have to deal with.
This is probably going to be a good day and a half job, but I like doing things like this. I just hope I measured everything right, otherwise its going to be a lot of moving for nothing lol.

Regarding #3 in my previous post, does anyone have opinions on the Netgear DGND3300? I have the Airport Extreme now, but I picked up the 3300 cause it had some positive reviews. Im wondering if someone had any opinions on it, and which one should I go with (AE or 3300)?
