Is it possible for itunes to pull your media from to locations? What I am trying to do is to store my TV Shows and Movies on an external drive but store my music locally, but I want everything to be accessed through iTunes.

Is there a way to do this?

Thanks in advance!

Yes. I have my iTunes library split between my internal and an external drive. Simply click File > Add to Library and select any folder that contains music that you want to add. Just make sure the external drive is mounted before you launch iTunes, or it won't be able to find the files there.

Don't you also have to disable "Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library" for this to not simply copy the files from the external to the internal?

Good point. Thanks for catching that. I forgot to mention that, since I never have that checked. In iTunes > Preferences > Advanced, uncheck both of these:

That's sort of what I was wondering too.
