Strange problem with OSX 10.6.6 and steermouse 4.0.3

Something weird happens with my rat 3 cyborg mouse and steermouse latest version. Sometimes when I wake up my iMac from sleep mode, the mouse cursor will be much faster than what it was before, and I have to re-adjust it through steermouse interface. Very annoying. Is it just steermouse acting up or my mouse? Hate to return the mouse just because of this one little annoyance occuring once in a while.
