1080p on Hi-Res 2011 MacBook Pro 15''

Can the new MacBook Pro 15'' play 1080p on his Hi-Res Display;
And how i can play mkv files on Mac.

I like Movist, like VLC, less "power user" oriented but it has most of the basics covered and then some. It also seems to handle MKV files better, no need to buffer (not exactly sure what VLC is doing there).

I also like Movist. In fact, i love it.
Never had to use VLC again, Movist plays everything i throw at it and it's very user friendly.

Agreed before I learnt about movist years ago I used VLC but VLC stutters sometimes has a bit of issues. No issues with movist and with movist u can bump the volume up more.. which you cannot do easily with VLC...

any good links to a download of "Movist" sounds interesting, I've always felt VLC was a little clunky
