What's the best resolution for me to use on my 13 inch rMBP when I'm playing 1080p video? Should I just stick to the 1280 x 800? Or go for 1050/ something else? I'm just looking for the best quality of video playback

doesnt matter much, but best for retina should cover that pretty well

Wouldn't that scale down the video? And would it be better for me to just use 720p instead of 1080 on best for retina since, it's basically 720 with more pixels to make it more accurate as I understand it?

Thanks

no it wouldnt

you are confusing what HIDPI mode is

i think it might make a difference if you're playing the video on an app that doesn't support retina. All the built in stuff should play back the video at native resolution and not pixel double it.

I think Netflix would recognize to play in 1080p at super hd rather than 720 on safari right? As for apps I'd probably just use mplayerx which I'm pretty sure has support for it

Can anyone confirm on the Netflix?
