First of, for those contemplating between the compact backpack and the larger backpack, SESpy made a wonderful, in-depth review of the much larger, more fully featured backpack. His review can be found here:

Hopefully our reviews will make it easier for people to decide between the two popular backpacks.

Let's get started:

Clean design. Nice and sturdy handle, provides good grip yet comfort at the same time.

We all know what this is for.

I stick my Mag-Safe in the front pocket for easy access since I get it out a lot.

This is probably the only difference between the compact and the fully featured backpack. We only have one primary compartment, while the fully featured backpack has a main compartment and a secondary. If you took away the secondary compartment, and compared only the main compartments, the compact backpack can fit just as much as the fully featured backpack. Being conservative, I can fit about 3 textbooks, or 2 textbooks and a binder. If you really think about if, even if you could carry all the books in the world in your backpack, your natural instinct is to always carry the least possible to reduce weight.

I like how the pencils/pens are all in one compartment with your books. Makes it easy to access all at once for class. I don't have to go into a totally different compartment. The large pocket is big enough to stick DVD's, Small books, or possibly your mag-safe.

Another pocket on the side. Can't really put much there except small things, such as iPod, Phone, Headphones, or pocket change. I guess it's made for easy access on the go.

Overall, it's a great backpack. Same design and material as the 99.99 backpack from Incase. I love it, and bring it everywhere I go. I love minimalism, and the compact backpack is versatile yet sleek and simple at the same time. Feel free to ask questions!

Just did a quick google search on that backpack and it definitely can carry alot more than any Incase backpack. =)

Thanks much!

The canvas coated backpacks? I never had any experience with them, never seen them in stores either. What am I taking in college? The typical undergraduate curriculum, that's a biology textbook in there.
