11" and 13" 256gb SSD interchangeable? Same size\specs?

I'm curious if the two computers have the same SSD in them. I understand there is the whole toshiba\samsung debate, but what I mean is if i have a 11" with 256gb in it, can i swap it with a 256gb in a 13" ... ??? Or if I do get a 13" and then downsize to a 11", are the specs the same so I could just move the SSD with me?

They should be the same yes.
OWC sells upgrade SSD's for the MacBook airs and they are the same one for both 11" and 13".

Yeah my concern was unread somewhere that someone said te module were one sided for the 11" and two sided for the 13" and the space in the 11" was slimmer causing need for pressure. This was from a 2010 model so I didn't know if it had changed or if I could get someone with first hand experience on the 2011 models to pipe in.

The reason I ask is I have a 11" 128gb and my sister has a 13" 256gb. She has no use for such a big drive, so we want to swap, and I just want to make sure the 13"'s 256gb will fit in my 11"

yes it will fit- i know because i have taken several 256gb ssd drives out of 13" airs and put them in each of the 3 11" airs I've owned

I just was in the Apple store, and the genius had both open and showed me. It WILL fit, but in a less-than-ideal way.

The board layout on the 13's is designed for the internal cavity on the 13" ... when that is put into the 11", the board layout is slightly thicker than optimal, meaning when the back is put on the laptop, the back puts pressure on the SSD putting pressure on the mainboard. While this isn't a big deal, it removes the buffer for shock absorption (think of a car with a solid bumper vs a hollow bumper), so if the bottom of the laptop is bumped, it's literally like bumping the mainboard, whereas with the proper memory it leaves about 0.51mm of gap\flex space between the SSD and main board.

I think I'll have to find an alternate solution. When it comes to 2 compenents potentially making improper contact inside a $1400 laptop, I don't want to take any chances, especially since the mod in itself isn't 100% warranty-friendly.

Both were 2011. The issue is the memory from the 13 rubs cause the module is slightly thicker. Probably not a huge deal but I don't want to risk internal components rubbing each other.
