I currently have a late 2008 MBA (1.86 w/ SSD) that I'm looking to replace. Among my issues are the battery which is less than stellar (about 2.5 hours max on a good day), fan has started making an odd noise, easily overheats, has the CPU whine, and is just generally in less than perfect cosmetic condition. I'd like to replace it with a current version MBA, but was stuck on which to pick.
I like the size of the 11", but I'm worried it may not have any extra speed over my 2008 MBA. I have a desktop which I do a majority of my work on, but I do a bit of light gaming and photo editing on the go, which my current MBA seems to just barely be able to handle. I'd basically need the laptop to be able to run Aperture, Parallels (Windows 7 doing very light tasks), and run a 24" external monitor (two at a time at very most). Anyone have the 11" and can speak to it's performance in similar tasks? Anyone had both (2008 and 11") and can compare the two? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
