110/120v outlet with USB

Would there be any issue charging iPhones/iPad Mini via this type of USB port?

I'm thinking there wouldn't be, but decided to ask since I've used only Apple chargers in the past.

There are two concerns.

1) location. Running USB from the wall requires some long wires, which make a mess

2) amperage. Anything ipad + retina prefers 2 amps. Check the rating, one like this shows dual 2.1 (good):

I use a power strip with USB that clamps to the table. Keeps the other wires nice an short.

No need to regulate. 5V matches.

The higher current is not an issue.
