Can you guys please tell me which SSD is best for my late 08 2.4 macbook pro? im looking for 120GB or 128GB

Thanks

Thanks guys. So the price is $249.99?

Do you think i'll find it cheaper at any other website?

the weird thing is i can't find that drive on Newegg ??

That drive is only sold through OWC's website, so you would need to look at other brands if you wanted to buy elsewhere. A lot of SSDs are in the $2 or more per GB range though. OCZ is also a good brand for SSDs. Looks like there is a 120GB model that is on sale at newegg now for under $200

I ordered the OWC 120GB SSD about 5 days ago, hopefully it'll arrive soon.

Check out the thread titled "SSD's and Battery life". There is some useful information for when you get the drive.

I also ordered the 120gb to replace the superdrive in my MBP. Hopefully I'll have it installed by tomorrow and will let you know how it is. Honestly, all SSDs are going to be blazing fast by nature but the concern is the degradation over time. Supposedly OWCs SSD is not supposed to degrade but you know

Ordered that 120GB OWC about 3 weeks ago and have been up and running for 2 weeks. That thing flies. OSX boot (10.6.6) is about 8 seconds after the bootloader is complete, and Windows 7 is about 15 seconds (autologin). WoW speeds are also incredibly enhanced.

The non-degrading factor is one major reason why I chose OWC. Also their warranty service is outstanding from what I've read.

I'll add that I purchased the item at about 9am Monday, it shipped at 12:30pm Monday, and arrived from their warehouse outside Chicago to my apartment in Dayton via Fedex at 11am Wednesday. All this via free Fedex Home delivery. :)

Is intel planning to launch a new generation of SSD with faster read/write speed and larger capacity anytime soon?

I hear this every other day on these forums. Until official word comes out, everyone is just blowing hot air.
