How do I change my user account short name and home directory name?

What I need to do is change my account short name and home directory name. What is the best way of doing this? Also will i have to set everything back up after doing so? For example, my itunes library is in the directory /users/NameExample1/Music/iTunes. When I change my user name am I gonna have to go into all my programs and update the settings to /users/NewName1/Music/iTunes or will it automatically update to this? Are there any problems that could be caused by me changing my account user name?

It is not advised to do so though, as it might introduce permission problems. Why do you need to change the short name / home directory?

I was wanting to change it, Because way back when I first setup my Macbook Pro I had a retarded e-mail address. When setting up the MBP it asked for my e-mail address, I didn't know it was gonna make this the name of my home folder. I just recently decided to see if there was a way to change this. I'll probably just end up leaving it though as it seems like it may be kinda risky changing it.
