IMO white iProducts look cheap/ tacky and sort of shows that you're only interested in the status symbol the product provides rather than its functionality.

Masculine? Not necessarily.
I never understood how a color signifies masculinity/femininity.
I am a man and I will be purchasing the white and probably an orange or gray smart cover.
