So what do you guys think... 64GB iPad 2 or 64GB Macbook Air. I have a Mac Mini, but I rarely use it.

Both ;)

But in all seriousness we know nothing about you. About what you plan to so with either. So it's unfair to ask us to choose one way or the other whe you fail to elaborate yourself.

I would say, if you already have a main computer, buy an iPad 2. I already have a 15" MBP that I love, so the iPad 2 will compliment me nicely... I see no point to owning 2 computers with OSX on them. I would hate to have to move files back and forth.

If all you have is a mac mini... I'd go with the 13" maxed out air.

Ditto, it is best to have both, fit into a nice bag and you've got all the computing power you need (for the most part).

I've been asking myself the same thing. I can afford a Macbook Air or an iPad 2 this month. I just don't know which one is better for me right now.

So, you already have a 16GB iPad. What more will the the iPad 1.5 give you that the iPad 1 does not?

I say the MacBook Air.

Hmm, let's see... this is an iPan forum.....

so you should get.....an iPad!

now that wasn't hard was it? :D

i bought a iPad then the minute the 11.6 MBA came out sold the ipad and regretted it so sold the MBA and bought another iPad

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8C148 Safari/6533.18.5)

I actually sold the iPad I had for money to get a new one or MBA.

What computer do you have now wiseduck?

I have the iMac in my signature and a windows laptop. The windows laptop is decent, my parents might buy it for about 400 USD which means I could easily buy an iPad 2 or Macbook Air soon. I just need something that is light and portable. The AIR is probably the better choice since I can use it at work and get real work done using Pages and Pixelmator etc.

both - whenever possible

I'd prefer both because i tend to not want to use the iPad for any type of word processing or typing. Its really more enjoyable for me to just use it as a point and interact device. I know its possible to use it for many different things... but it does not work well as a stand alone device. I still like the feel of a keyboard.

Also with the addition of 4.3 if you have an iphone, iPad and Macbook air you can use mobile web on all three devices at once...definitely going to useful nearly every day.

iPad 2 vs 11.6" Macbook Air (C2D) = iPad 2
iPad 2 vs 11.6" Macbook Air (Sandy bridge) = Macbook Air

For my wife then I think the 11.6" Macbook Air is closer to what she needs but after a few weeks use she felt the processor was too weak, the lack of backlit keyboard was odd and the webcam was terrible. So we're getting iPads for both of us and I'll probably sell hers when the Sandy Bridge MBA update comes out later in the year.
