Both my 16GB Black WiFi model and my wife's 16GB White WiFi have the problem, with mine being worse. It's really only noticeable on a black background and if the brightness is turned up high.

This is a good image to test it with, either set it as your background or use a web browser that allows "full screen".

Yes I do too! Black 16GB WiFi model. My iPad 1 had a great screen. I'm going to have to return it if it doesn't go away in a few days.
 
I don't think it will go away. It seems to be a backlighting issue, not a glue issue like the iPhone 4 had. My LED TV has the same issue. Guess we'll see after a few days but I'm skeptical. Either way it should be covered by warranty so mill wait till the commotion settles down and go to the Apple Store but this seems pretty widespread.
 
that sucks swap it, I swapped 4 original iPads because of this (and other reasons like dust under the screen dead pixels and a really weird problem that baffled the apple guys, when I plugged one of the iPads in for its 1st charge it made the screen go weird.. and super bright and when he compared it to other models out back he said it was way brighter for some reason)

You cant avoid the light bleed but you can hopefully get one with a little less... even after swapping mine around so many times the one i have now still has it just no where near as much.

And it is very annoying especially when watching movies in bed etc the lightbleed becomes to distracting.

When youv waited in line from 4am till 7am (uk original iPad launch) and pay £600 for something it has to be right.
 
I have two that have it. Both have in different locations with white being less. Needless to say both going back when they have more.
 
I got light bleed on the bottom right. I think I can live with it. Haven't adjust brightness yet so maybe some hope.
 
I have it on my iPad 1, my lg LCD monitor, my LCD tv...its quite minimal and not distracting on all of the above. If my iPad 2 has it (haven't unboxed mine yet...wife had a migraine last night so I was taking care of kids solo...gonna do it this morning) then, as long as it is similarly minimal, I'll be good.
 
Unfortunately yes mine does have it, it's only noticeable at a black screen also it's not as bad as that photo. As long as I don't notice it normally I don't care.
 
I have the bleeding as well, and it's almost an entire corner (1in). Hmm, is this really covered by the warranty?
 
This should not be happening, and nobody should accept this as "normal". I had a light bleed issue on my iPhone 4 and exchanged it for a unit that did not have any light bleed. If they can make iPhones without light bleed (most of them DON'T have it), the iPad should be no different.

Light bleed is not acceptable on a device advertised to play movies. If this is true of the majority of iPad 2s, I will not be getting one.
 
WAIT!

Don't return an iPad for light bleed when it is covered by warranty.

You all know there is limited stock. Surely you can wait a week and hit an apple store or return it then?

Why would you queue up and wait for hours to return something only noticeable because your being pedantic and knowing you will leave without one due to no stock when you have a year to swap it with apple?!

Just checked and mine has none.

People who have issues will create posts, which makes people think everyone has the issue. Nobody is creating a thread titled "my iPad 2 screen is perfect" because it has no point.
 
Light bleeding is inherent to Edge Lit LED displays. No one is going to make a local dimming tablet. Thats one of the many reasons why Plasma TVs are better than LEDs.
