iPad 2 International Launch Prices Compared!

Hi all,

Have spent a while making up this table comparing all of the different prices around the world for the launch of the iPad 2.

Included is each country's local price, and the equivalent price in USD and GBP for a comparison of the different charges in each country.

I hope you find it useful!

Good start, now extract tax like VAT, and add average salary information that is also converted bit for bit.
 
iPad 2 in Mexico will be around $7500, including 16% VAT. Apple prices in Mexico are an exact match of the US prices if you take the dollar to be about $13 Mexican peso (even when the dollar is higher or lower than that) and then add the 16% VAT. No complains.
 
at least they start at 479€. (including tax)

Thank god Apple didn't dare to go the 1$ = 1€*conversion way that Steam initially went.

I just took a quick glance and it appears some of your numbers are off. Look at Finland, France and Germany 32GB WiFi and you'll see what I mean. ;)

Good chart though, to get a rough idea of cost comparisons. And yeah, it sucks to live in Europe and get raped by VAT!

I might get around to fixing it sometime, it took way too long to do!
 
Prices Mexico!

These are the prices in Mexico for the iPad 2 (Wi-fi only) also releasing tomorrow March 25:

16 gb: 6999 mxn, 413 EUR, 363 GBP
32gb: 8499 mxn, 502 EUR, 441 GBP
64 gb: 9999, 590 EUR, 519 GBP

So comparing these prices to other countries I believe we have an acceptable price :D
 
Yikes, Danmark is really quite expensive compared to the rest of the world!

Have in mind that those numbers include 25% VAT though.

You think an iPad is expensive in scandanavia? Try a big mac.

I swear I have never in my life ever spent £10 (about $17) on ONE hamburger until I was in Stockholm in the summer...

I know Norway is even more expensive than Sweden as well!

Well, that does not matter. As all the iPad 2s are made in China...
Import prices to all countries should be just about the same, with the exception of different shipping distance, local handling and VAT.
