Connecting PC Video to Imac 27"

So I used the search tool and couldn't find anything concrete, seeing some old posts from last year about the radeon 5 series and not sure which ones work, but what I was wondering was...

Would this card work with my imac?

It has mdp out so I'm assuming all I'd need is a mdp cable and it should work, however if anyone has any other info I'd love to hear it.
 
Not sure if I read your question right..

But No that card will not work with an imac.

Unless you want to connect your PC to the imac and use the imac as a monitor?

There has been some horror stories of the Display Port not working correctly with some graphics cards, but as I understand it "Eyefinity" enabled AMD cards in the 6xxx series work fine. (Like the one you linked.)

If it was me, I'd be wanting to find someone, anywhere, who had tried it first. HardOCP had a great thread about this, which I can't find.

I am 99% sure someone on these boards had tried the 6950 (Flashed in Bios to 6970) with success.
 
Hello everyone, just wanted to update you on what happened.

I built my PC, (i7 sandybridge, ati 6970) and bought the belkin mdp adapter. Everything works great and I get video from my pc to my imac! I took a gamble but I searched the web and saw someone had success with a gigabyte 6970 and I bought an MSI.

What sort of FPS are you getting at 2560x1440? Could you post some figures?

Congrats on your new rig! :D
 
Getting anywhere between 30-70 FPS playing rift on ultra with no AA and 8x ansiotropic filtering
 
I'll just add that I tried the displayport out of a previous generation AMD card (HD5750), and that didn't work with my 09 27" iMac. So I bought an AMD HD6870 card, and it works beautifully, it even pipes the sound to the iMac loudspeakers.
