The 27" LED Cinema Display and 27" iMac have stands that are the same height. However, overall, the Cinema Display is 1.05" shorter than the iMac because the enclosures are not identical.

This means they don't "line up". Which is... annoying.

I'd like them to line up without having to deal with the hassles of buying and installing VESA adapters and heavy-duty monitor arms (it takes a serious arm to hold up a 27" iMac!). I'd rather hope there's a carved piece of aluminum that the Cinema Display could be placed on to bring it to the appropriate height.

Has anyone seen anything out there along these lines?

Its called magazines or a book.

I'm looking for high-quality solutions that already exist, and don't need to be DIYed.

If I were to DIY, I would have someone machine something out of aluminum and finish it to match -- not use magazines or a piece of scrap wood.

Check out macessity.com. Under keyboard stands they have some that match the aluminum of the iMac. Also a USB hub is an option.
