I have a 2011 13" 2.3 core i5 with 8GB of RAM and a 500GB seagate momentus XT hybrid drive. I really thought my xbench scores would be higher. I updated to the newest drive firmware, reset PRAM and SMC and still a low score.

I compared my xbench score to an older model MBP with the same drive and had higher scores in everything but the disk test...

Am I missing something?? Any suggestions? My boot time did go down to 19 seconds from the time I hit the power button until OSX is loaded but I still think something is wrong.

See comparison in link.

OK thank you. But is there something causing me to get a lower score than someone with the same drive? Is 10.6.3 faster than 10.6.7?

Would it make a difference that I used Carbon Copy Cloner to copy my OSX install from my old 320GB to the new drive rather than doing a fresh installation?

Probably not. It will have different scores each time you run it, depending on what your computer is doing in the background. Some of your scores are higher, some lower, and it would likely change if you ran it again. It's nothing to worry about.

Cool, thanks again for your help :D

I have almost the identical spec but mine is a late 2011 i5 2.4ghz. I was disappointed in mine initially but after putting the sd28 firmware on my drive I'm now up to 179.47. Pretty decent bump if you ask me.
