It is PC3 10666 and in a apple site said that imac use PC3 10600.

But i live in brazil and i only found this memory in ebay with a good price.
I would like buy crucial but i didn't find any place that send to brazil.

Confirm what brand and type of third party RAM you install on your iMac, and post it about performance and compatibility. That should make life easier

Some of my friend has failure of installing SO-DIMM DDR on their MacBook Pro. I don´t want it to happen to my iMac

I started my iMac, saw that it was functional without any screen/loading issues, shut down and installed this kit from Crucial: CT2KIT51264BC1339. It's 2x4GB and works perfectly. There is too much **** about which ram to choose and whether or not it will work. Just match the specs, buy it, discharge your body and install it! Should be a 5-10 deal, maximum.

To the OP, unfortunate that you couldn't find 10600. Did you try places besdes eBay? Does PC3-10666 work even though it's spec'd at 10600? Update when you install with results. I would be interested to see what happens...1333MHz is the same so what would be the benefit?

I do not expect benefits when compared to 10600. I just have no option to buy another ram because i didn't find in ebay, and i only know this place that ship to brazil.

There is a post in macrumors macbook fórum that the people sad that works in macbook pro 2011, then i hope works in imac Mac beucase they are similar.

Took newegg forever to ship but just wanted to confirm that the 10666 will work properly with the iMac 2011. Popped them right in and it booted without any issues.

I'd like to know too. For whatever reason, the faster RAM is substantially cheaper.

If its with 1333Mhz i odnt see what the point would be when it will clock the speeds lower, and may be finicky with the ram.

id just get the 1333mhz as i have picked up 8gb for 63$ and i think theyre still around $75, which is a deal.
