Our VZW cellphones have lousy coverage in our new home. I was told I could get a network extender and my research landed me on this site:

http://cellphones.lovetoknow.com/Wireless_Network_Extender .

Has anyone had firsthand experience with one of these they'd care to share? Seems to me the sound quality would suffer due to too many conversions, i.e., the "hybrid VoIP". Also, would this effect the quality of texting?

Tried the one AT&T has for my office and it didn't work. The boards are full of comments that reflect mixed results. Check and see if you can return it and if so give it a try and see if one works for you. You got nothing to lose. Another alternative is to get an antenna signal booster. But that requires installing a wire antenna outside on your house.

Thanks. Interesting idea with the antenna booster. I assume it would act as a repeater for the output from our cellphones. Does it amplify incoming?
