I'm sure that of the 1000s of posts on the interwebs about this topic I'm not the first to experience this exact situation, but it does seem as if the topic has died down some in the past few months.
March 2011 I downgraded my wife's phone plan from unlimited to 200mb per month. In the entire time she has had an iPhone, she only exceeded 200mb *once* and in the previous 7 months she had used no more than 65 mb.
But magically, she's almost exceeded it this month even though she is on wifi the majority of the time. She had a 65mb data upload on 5/13 middle of the night! Almost an entire previous month's usage all at once!
I find it laughable that AT&T wants me to believe that we uploaded 65megs on *EDGE*......
Did you hear that AT&T: EDGE. The rep tried telling me the usual stuff: background apps running, apps updating, etc. He even said if "wifi flickers, even for an instant" it will log off of wifi and transmit everything through the network.
But again: 65MB. Edge network. I didn't realize 2+2 = 65 now....
Edit: I just find it curious that me, on the unlimited plan, do not have anything like this on my line and that she hasn't had it previously *until she dropped to the lowest plan*. Almost like AT&T is purposely driving her data usage up.....
