Mid/Late 2009 Macbook pro 15 inch - sending audio through Mini-DP port to HDMI?

I have a mid/late 2009 macbook pro 15 inch. I am considering getting a mini displayport to HDMI adapter and hooking this up to a television. With that being said, will audio transmit through the mini-displayport on this model macbook?

No, unfortunately it won't. Apple updated the MDP to support audio in the 2010 models.

what sucks? buy one of the adapters I linked you to and you will get your audio over HDMI....
