HTML Writer

Hi, Can someone tell me where the HTML writer is on the Mac? (the equivalent of Notepad on the PC). Can't seem to find it. 😕
 
I don't seem to have TextEdit. Can't see anything. Did a search and nothing found. Shouldn't it be part of the system???
 
My daughter just told me I can use Simple Text. All I want to do is write up some stuff with HTML codes. I didn't realize as I'm a Mac newbie (relatively).

Yeah, TextWrangler is an awesome editor. I ditched BBEdit and switched to TextWrangler and haven't looked back. Best part, it's free!
 
I also think TextWrangler is a good editor, and recommend it. However, you really should have TextEdit on your computer. It should be in the Applications folder along with almost all of your other programs.
 
Maybe it's because I have OS9. I've done what I wanted to do anyway in Simple Text. Will be upgrading shortly to OS X.

That's the problem right there. Text Edit is the OSX equivalent of Simple Text.

When you switch to OSX you will need to switch over to Text Edit (or something better).
