Yep, @Musclenerd just tweeted that iOS 5 beta 1 has already been jailbroken on the iPod Touch 4G:

That's cool but not really the central question which for me is - will they be able to un-tether on the new hardware platform when it comes out. JB iOS 5 on my iP4 will likely be really nice but it's not going to be gravy until it's on iP5.

Not really that impressive, it's the same hardware as before.

When they do the iPad 2, that's the big job.

i think they used the same untethered jailbreak as in 4.3.1, 4.3.2 and 4.3.3, so it will most likely be patched by the final release.

Keep in mind this is beta 1 we got about 4 versions to go until it's realesed. Allot of fetures aren't working yet. Some of you guys are like kids in a candy shop.

lol you got that right, i wasnt on the iphone train when iOS 4 was a beta buts its funny watching everyone stress out over an iOS thats 3 months away from being released

Yes, because JB is completely hardware based.

Limera1n is a bootrom exploit. Being a bootrom exploit its a hardware jailbreak, meaning that apple must change the phone's physical components to close off the exploit. it will give you a tethered jailbreak no matter how much they change the iOS.

DO SOME RESEARCH BEFORE YOU
