I can not figure this out and it is driving us crazy.

We use our iMac as a "TV" in our kitchen (watch movies and TV shows through iTunes). One time about a week ago I wanted to send what I was watching on the iMac to our appleTV in the living room. So I used Airplay through iTunes and it worked well.

The problem is that ever since when we try to watch anything on the iMac (using iTunes) it defaults to airplay (and always to the living room ATV). So you have to use the airplay drop down in iTunes to bring it back to the iMac.

Please help, why does iTunes default to this everytime.

I have looked through every setting in iTunes i can find but there is no place to "pick" what you want to use as the default airplay speaker.

This is very annoying at this point, anyone have any ideas.

Ok i found three things to try (from other forums) when i get home. Am i the only one on MacRumors seeing this issue. and yes i am running iTunes 10.3.1

just click on the little AirPlay symbol in the bottom right of the iTunes window and click on 'Multiple Speakers'; then check your AirPlay speaker that iTunes is automatically using, and then uncheck it! Simple.

1. On your computer with iTunes turn off Home Sharing in Advance.
2. At the bottom right of the iTunes Application click the icon (window with an arrow) and select AppleTV.
3. Again click the icon (window with arrow) and set it back to Computer.
3. Now turn Home Sharing back on.

1-Turn wifi off or disconnect internet connection
2-play a video on itunes and when getting the error message ... select play on computer
3-Play a few videos
4-reconnect your internet or wifi
should now default to your computer
