"Xbox 2 Host Processor Architecture:
Hexus has some interesting information, if it proves to be correct, on the Xbox host processor architecture. According to what Hexus is saying, the three 3GHz IBM processors in the next-gen Xbox will have Hyper Threading, much the same way as the dual core P4 840 EE we reviewed yesterday. The fellas also have rumors of an October Xbox 2 launch date. Hit the link for all the info and exact dates.

However the bean we have confirms that the IBM RISC processor based ‘XBOX-2’ is indeed set to feature three physical CPU cores, but that’s not the half of it, or, to be precise, it kind of is… as we believe that each of these physical cores will also support a form of ‘Hyper Threading’ technology, thereby giving six virtual processors."

there were allready rumors about the 'hyperthreading' or 'dualcore' G5's & reaching 3Ghz...

so maybe this line of PMG5 is the last with 2 processors in it & the new ones will have one processor with 2virtual processors inside??
or maybe they will stay with dualprocessors giving 4 processor capacity?? I guess the last setup will not happen ;-) or maybe will happen in the Xserve along with liquid cooling wich fits in the housing (probably the reason XServes max out at 2x 2,3Ghz right now?) & less noisy setup?

I bet we will see Dual PowerPC 970MP Power Macs which will have 2 physical processors but the OS will see 4.

Anyone know if they will be Dual Core 970s or more based on the 'hyperthreading' path.....?
