Customer came in having some service issues on his VZW iPhone. Usually check software first so I plugged it into iTunes and got asked to update to 4.2.9. Anyone else seeing this? I've check iClarified and such, but no notices of it.

The only change in the firmware most likely closes the security hole that was allowing the latest jailbreak. It was expected it would be released soon, not a major update.

Well, yes, that's a given. I just wasn't sure if it had just been pushed out since none of the normal "tech" sites had anything about it yet.
