I got a ton of movies ripped on my main (iMac) external hard rive. In SL it worked FLAWLESSLY. I could navigate the folder, select a movie and play. Now I get this error message and no matter what I change (there is barely any options) I can't get it to work, any ideas:

Also, the external drive is formatted as Fat32, could that be causing the issue?

I thought this would fix itself after Lion but still can't access my external hard drive from my other computer. Used to work just fine in Snow Lepoard...

Here is a screenshot of the drive info and the sharing permissions:

Any help would be MUCH appreciated!

Try removing and adding back in the drive to file sharing and see if that fixes it.

Tried that and a no go. From what I have been reading others are having the same issue and the file format of the drive is not the issue.
