Tried to buy new MBA at apple store today...

Brought it out, went to scan it, and it wasn't showing up in the system. The manager called corporate and they said theyre not allowed to sell them until tomorrow... WTF

If they have them in stock and already announced the new versions why are they not selling them in stores??? Apple's policies are ridiculous. :mad:

the 2011 base 13" model. They had it in stock they brought out the box and I looked at the label. They said to come back tomorrow and not to worry because they have plenty in stock.

What a waste of fuel.
 
Omg! That is pretty upsetting...
It does say in the press release though that new MBAs will go on sale tomorrow, but they should put it on their online store website.

Sorry to hear that man, that's freaking annoying. I wanted to go pick mine today too. Sucks.
 
Hmm, interesting. Good to know this. Closest Apple store to me is about an hour and a half drive.
 
They sold them for about an hour this morning at the NYC Apple 5th location before shutting it down as well. They had to process paper receipts, those old credit card slider machines, etc so really was slowing up the store.
 
Is it confirmed that they won't be selling the maxed out 11inch models? Ie. the i7 or 256 specs? That's something you need to do online, yeah?

Yeah thats weird, but it did say in available in stores tomorrow. Not sure why not today thought.
 
Maybe they want to release on the same day across all stores, not just some that happened to get the shipments by today.
 
Yep just got back from mine to mess around with Lion and (buy) the Air...not till tomorrow in stores.
 
OH NOEZ NO AIR TILL TOMORROW. But seriously, it's not like they are not going to be there tomorrow. I don't mean to be rude or anything but your going to be able to wake up and get it tomorrow.. adds to the suspense! :D:apple::D
 
Any peek of what MBA models are/will be available in the brick-and-mortar stores?

All four non-BTO setups plus ultimate, perhaps?

Hoping for a friend to pick one up for me (probably 11" i5/128GB) as my new main computer while she's in the US.

Also, does anyone know if they generally have laptops with Spanish keyboards for sale in the physical stores (closer to my Swedish keyboard)? I'll manage if only US ones are available though. Heck my first Mac had a Japanese keyboard (though that's not a problem in my case). :p Just thought I'd check.
