I recently got this case. It manages to be both light and protective. The only problem is that my new Air that is destined to occupy the case is still in the Fedex facility in Shanghai.

This is what i just purchased and received for my mba! the padding is pretty good i think and its not very thick but it looks nice and feels nice too! it has a cloth like hard texture ?

I got one of these today. It's awesome. The materials are great. The Air is a perfect fit. They make these for Pros and both sizes of the Air.
The carrying handles are made of a high quality material that feels and looks like an expensive car's seatbelt quite a bit. The inside is all fuzzy and soft (so if dirt or sand gets in, the fuzzy soft material keeps the sand or dirt from being pressed and rubbed against the Air and scratching it up).
Overall an awesome case. I'd recommend it.

I'm amazed that people buy an ultra thin notebook, then wrap it in plastic and rubber until it's as thick and ugly as a Dell.
A good, generic sleeve, for carrying around in a backpack, and a basic stand for keeping it high and cool when it's attached to my Cinema Display, are all I need.

I will get my 11" soon and I would never spend much money on a stupid case, so I searched for the cheapest case on ebay I could find, as it turned out it's also the most stylish one I have seen for the 11" so far

I just wanted to say, I've been browsing around for a good cheap case for weeks, and the price on this one plus your recommendation finally sold me. I just bought one for myself. How is the quality of the design? How much protection does it give your computer?

I have a question to those who use sleeves... is it cumbersome to carry around? Or do you drop it into a bookbag as well and the sleeve is solely to protect the Air while it's inside the bag? I'm thinking I want something as thin as a sleeve, but also with shoulder straps (not just a handle) so I don't necessarily have to carry a bookbag with me every time I want to bring my laptop somewhere...

If carrying your Air in a backpack or messenger bag a thin 'crush proof' or hard sleeve would ideal. Such a thing is near impossible to find.
For backpack fans it's hard to find a medium size to hold the Air, few peripherals and notebooks. Nearly all backpacks are designed for 15" up, the little Airs get lost in there.
Wish more sleeve and bag makers would make a design around the Air...

I discovered this company in March. They have excellent customer service. Most of their bags are made from suppliers in the US using US made supplies. The bags are a little pricey--but they're built to last.
I actually just got a Ristretto for iPad/iPad2, which I might be able to make work with an 11" if/when I pull the trigger on the purchase.
