Is screen burn in still a thing with OLED? I bought this phone and now I’m thinking of returning it due to the possibility of screen burn in. The only thing holding me back is the battery difference.

Do not be afraid about screen-burn, it will be fine. Just try not to keep brightness at 100% for long period of time.

I was in your situation when I bought my iPhone X, and there isn’t any problem with it. Don’t worry

So far (since the X) nobody has documented a true screen burn in on any of Apple's OLED screens.
There have been instances of faint image retention that goes away after a while, but no permanent burn it — so far

No “burn in” issues on my X since it released. I confidently don't expect any with my 11 Max Pro.

Apple did an amazing job tweaking their displays, in fact they even did a little better than Samsung with Samsung’s own displays from OLED burn in.

I appreciate everyone and their responses. I don’t if it’s buyers remorse or what but something in my head says get the 11. I love the size of the pro max that I have but it is heavy. How much better is the battery on this phone compared to the 11?

on the burn in question, hard not to worry about it when it’s on the Apple page for the pro and pro max about it may happen. Is that just Apple covering their butts?

You’ll be fine with with 11 but as you can see pro Max better way batter life. Not even close.

Anyone have problems with their eyes feeling tired in the pro max?

I know some people are reporting this but I by and large am not having a problem. I have only had trouble with phone screens on the Pixel 2XL because the blue shift would sear my retinas.

does AppleCare cover if I find it does cause a headache and eye strain and want to change to a regular 11?

No it does not.
ok. Thank you so much. I’m just worried that I made the wrong decision buying the pro max. The battery life is sweet at two full days for me but it is a little heavy and I like lcd screen better. The battery is the one reason I am having a hard time deciding.

So, if you are within the 14 day return period you can return the device no questions asked.

I was able to get a replacement on an iPhone 7 plus that I purchased from a girl on craigslist. It didn’t have Apple care on it and it was 4 months old. The reason for me replacing it is because it had a ton of micro scratches Due to the carelessness of the previous owner. The lady on the phone from Apple support said if I wasn’t happy with it that I could get an exchange for 99$. Here’s the twist, because she told me that the manager at the Apple store said they have to honor what the lady told me as notes were put on my account. Even without having AC on it they would have done the exchange for 329$ out of warranty. I lucked out. So of course with Apple care you should be able to get a swap but not a return for the same model and color
