12" MacBook 2015 - need advice please

First off I'd like to say thanks to all of you that post informative topics, offer suggestions and overall contribute a lot of helpful information to people such as myself.

I pulled the trigger on a 2015 12" MacBook on bestbuy for $999, new, $300 less than the current asking price of a new 2016 model.

I will only be using this for web surfing, watching videos, streaming music, etc. until the new MBP comes out.

Did I get a pretty good deal on this?

i keep thinking of a goat with two heads. would that qualify as a rare goat?

I'll either give it to my mother as a gift (Mother's Day around the corner) or sell it.
