I bought a refurb 2017 m3 MacBook from Apple two years ago, and enjoy it....apart from the screen being too small. Now with working from home, my wife has our external monitor, and I'm working int he living room, and can't really have an external display. So am considering upgrading it to a 13.3" screen size.

Does anybody have any side by side comparisons/experience how much this would help? I have noticed I am hunching over quite a lot squinting at the screen. Making everything bigger makes me lose screen real estate...annoying when I occasionally have to use spreadsheets for work.

I used to be fine with a 2011 11" MBA...but that was 9 years ago, when my eyesight was better :)

Thanks for any help!

My wife remains quite happy with her m3 2015 12”. I’ve got it situated next to my 2GHz 13” Pro 13” in the photo.

You do get a bit more real estate with the MBA or Pro (twelve screen 2304x1440 vs thirteen screen 2560x1600)

I wear glasses all the time now so they both look great to me 8)

Let me know if you have other questions.

Thanks so much for your help! I just feel the 12“ is a tad too cramped, especially with word documents with comments, two windows side by side etc. looking at your comparisons, might take my laptop down to the local store and compare.

Another option is getting a portable external display. Best option would be a second desk, but we don’t have room for one in our flat. Can’t kit out the dining room table too permanently, would suck when having guests over.
